Common Name: Grecian windflower

Anemone blanda Mix reaches 4 to 8 inches tall, featuring daisy-like flowers in shades of blue, pink, and white atop delicate, ferny foliage. These hardy perennials thrive in full sun to part shade, naturalizing over time to create a vibrant spring display. Ideal for mass plantings, borders, rock gardens, and containers, they are deer-resistant and attract early-season pollinators.

How to Plant

Planting: Soak tubers in room-temperature water for 3 to 4 hours before planting to encourage faster sprouting.

Location: Prefers partial shade to full sun; thrives in woodland settings, rock gardens, and borders.

Soil: Requires moist, well-drained soil; adding compost or organic matter improves texture.

Watering: Keep soil lightly moist; avoid overwatering to prevent rot.

Spacing: Plant tubers 1 to 2 inches deep and 2 to 4 inches apart for optimal growth.

Naturalizing: Spreads easily, forming colorful mats under shrubs or deciduous trees.

Fertilization: Apply balanced fertilizer in early spring to support strong blooms.

Pruning: Cut back old foliage before new growth; divide clumps every two to three years.

Pest & Disease: Generally resistant to pests but avoid excessive moisture to prevent fungal issues.

Overwintering: Hardy in zones 4 to 9; mulch in colder climates for added protection.
