Dicentra

Dicentra, derived from Greek terminology meaning "two spurs," comprises eight species of herbaceous perennial flowering plants collectively referred to as bleeding-hearts. These distinctive perennials feature characteristic heart-shaped blooms and intricately dissected foliage. While predominantly indigenous to North American regions, several species also occur naturally throughout temperate East Asian habitats. Their taxonomic distribution spans two continents with similar climate conditions.
