Ranunculus

Ranunculus is a massive genus of flowering plants in the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae), with around 1,750 species worldwide, mostly in temperate and mountainous areas. The most famous ones are the buttercups you might spot in meadows, like the creeping buttercup (Ranunculus repens), or the showy garden varieties like Persian buttercups (Ranunculus asiaticus), which have those lush, rose-like blooms in vibrant pinks, yellows, oranges, and more. These perennials love cool weather and well-drained soil, blooming in spring for weeks of color—perfect for bouquets or cutting gardens.
