Monarda (commonly name bee balm, bergamot, or horsemint) is a genus of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to North America. Monarda have aromatic leaves and vibrant, tubular flowers in shades of red, pink, purple, or white. They typically grow 2–4 feet tall, with square stems. Flowers are clustered in dense, spherical heads, attracting pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. They love full sun and ideal in zones 4-9.
