Sun hostas tolerate more sunlight than typical hostas, which usually prefer shade. Sun-tolerant hostas can handle several hours of direct sun, especially morning sun, without their leaves burning or fading. They still benefit from some shade in hotter climates or during intense afternoon sun. Their thicker leaves or specific genetics make them more resistant to sun damage, but they still need well-drained, moist soil to perform well.
