Collection: Perennials for the PNW's Coastal Zones

It’s wild to think that coastal parts of Oregon and Washington, like Seattle or Portland (Zone 8b), share the same USDA Hardiness Zone as parts of the Southeast, including northern Florida (e.g., Jacksonville, also Zone 8b)!

This (we hear from our chilly zone 6b) is all about mild winters with average lows in the 15-20°F range and the Pacific ocean keeping things temperate. So it really does work like the Southeast’s humid subtropical climate, but with totally different vibes — rainy evergreens vs. sunny palms!

Most of our perennial collections are rated for zones 8 and 9, but we did a deeper dive to see which ones might be particularly popular on the coasts of Oregon and Washington. Hellebores and hostas are our best picks, undoubtedly, be we came up with a few others.
