Agapanthus (African lily or Lily of the Nile) is a perennial native to southern Africa that grows in upright clumps from bulb-like underground stems. It produces tall, sturdy stalks topped with large, spherical clusters (umbels) of trumpet-shaped flowers, typically in shades of blue or purple, though white and pink varieties exist.
