'Prairie Splendor' stands out for being shorter and more compact than standard Echinacea purpurea (which can reach 3–4 feet), making it great for gardens, borders, or containers without needing staking.
Typically grows to about 24 inches (2 feet) tall, with a similar spread, forming a well-branched, dense clump. Large, daisy-like blooms (often 4–6 inches across) with bright rose-magenta to rose-pink petals (rays) surrounding a prominent dark orange to coppery center cone. The color is a rich, vibrant purple-pink shade.
Blooms notably early and long-lasting, starting in June (sometimes as early as late May) and continuing through summer into September or even early fall—often blooming 1–2 weeks earlier and longer than many other coneflowers.
